“I’m getting my life back thanks to Cross Training Systems!”

It’s been 4 years since I was injured which impeded my ability to exercise. I ruptured 2 discs in my cervical spine (neck), which has left me with a permanent impairment that restricts my head movement & affects my upper body from the shoulder blades up with strength & movement & occasional numbness in parts of my arms.

I honestly believed (after a lot of trial & error & advice) that my upper body strength was a thing of the past & there was nothing I could do about it. This is where CTS (thankfully) came into my life. A PT first approached me in September 2014. While I was standing there listening to him speak, I couldn’t help but think to myself, ‘How can you possibly help me, when for the last 3 ½ years its been too hard for everyone else!’ So to say I was sceptical is the understatement of my life!! It was then that I advised him of my metabolic condition & the fact that I have extremely “dodgy” knees, I figured that’d be the end of the conversation…It wasn’t! A week or so later I attended my appointment where my posture was assessed, and it was at that appointment I made what I now know was a life changing decision!

I committed to CTS for 3 months & for the first time in a long while; I decided to invest in myself! My posture has improved dramatically, to the point that family members and friends have commented on how I’m walking taller, standing straighter and don’t slouch. I’ve gone from not being able to lift the equivalent of an 18 pack of soft drink, to being able (just recently) to dead lift 50kgs!! I can even do squats on my “dodgy” knees! The amount and diversity of the exercises I can now do is amazing. But more importantly I feel that for the first time since my injury that I’m finally starting to get my life back!!! I’m 6 weeks into a new job, that I’m absolutely loving, I’m lifting, climbing ladders & many other things that 6 months ago I know I would never have been able to do without the CTS family, so I thank you all. I honestly don’t think I’d have made it this far!
